If you don’t think that you can plan a 24-Hour Romantic Staycation, think again. Me and my honey wanted to get away and just have some alone time, but we didn’t want to spend a fortune on it. It was our anniversary of rekindling our love (we were high school sweethearts 25 years ago) and we had to do something, even if it was just for 24 hours.

(I promise to tell you about our love story at a later date). 

Now I consider myself to be somewhat of a budget traveler and I always love a good bargain, so it was a no-brainer to book us a hotel through my favorite Hotwire.  The way Hotwire works is that you never know the hotel your will be staying in until you pay for it.

So here’s how our 24 hours ended up:

Booked Hotel and ended up at the fabulous Hyatt Regency in Downtown Houston for $88/ per night. These rooms normally go for $300 per night. #Winning

So I decided to tweet out of excitement about our mini anniversary stay at the Hyatt and to my surprise, they replied. I flipped over and they told me that they would make it special for us. I’m thinking to myself, is this automated or is this the real deal. Keep reading….

With the front granting our wish of an extremely high floor, we were on the 29th floor being able to see the view of Houston’s Downtown.

Within the first hour of settling in, a knock at the door. This arrives:

We were in total shock and began to think, this staycation just got better with huge grins on our faces. I’m thinking to myself. The Hyatt is the best. So we relaxed and wanted to check out the fabulous lobby.

We were just having a great time people watching and I even grabbed a dessert from the hotel store while we had great conversation in the hotel lobby.  And of course, where ever we go, we are always good for a selfie.

After being gone for at least 2 hours, this is what we came back to:

We were completely outdone. What was supposed to be a mini anniversary celebration on a budget turned out to be the most spectacular 24-Hour Anniversary treat ever!

Hyatt Regency Hotel, I am so forever grateful. This made us feel so special, more than you know. We will never forget your kindness and generosity! I can’t wait to go back…..
